Step 2 is crucial for the patient to discover and adapt to secondary swallowing. Schedule the next appointment within 10 to 45 days, ideally 15 to 20 days after the first session.

Between Appointments Instructions:
  1. Daily Use: Ensure the device is worn every day without exception. Consistency is key.
  2. Parental Supervision: Encourage parents to supervise their child during the initial weeks for better compliance.
  3. Usage Guidelines:
    • Tongue Position: Ensure the tongue is positioned horizontally
    • Continuous Wear: Follow the wear instructions closely.
    • No Talking: Avoid speaking while wearing the device.
Follow-Up Appointment:

Basic Evaluation: Ask the patient to sit up straight, swallow twice, and clench their teeth.
