The patient has not yet discovered secondary swallowing

This is normal and occurs in 95% of patients at this stage due to the Froggymouth device preventing a proper lip seal, leading to compensatory methods:

Forward Tongue Projection:
The patient, accustomed to making contact with the anterior labial mucosa, has the tip of the tongue touching the inside of the lip.
Sucking:
Sucking in saliva, noticeable by noise.
Absence of Swallowing:
When usual swallowing becomes imposible, the patient may try to find an alternative method or simply stop attempting to swallow.
What to do?

Allow 5 minutes for the patient to adjust. Use this time to explain the importance of rehabilitation. After 5 minutes, ask the patient to swallow saliva twice and observe:
