Quiz 5th step
- For respiratory obstruction, refer the patient to an ENT specialist.
- If occlusion is unstable, consider orthodontic treatment to stabilize the mandible. Rehabilitation can begin before orthodontics are completed.
- For a restrictive frenulum, surgical intervention may be necessary. Refer to specialist.
- If the upper arch is too small, initiate an expansion phase using devices like a Quad Helix, palatal expander, Hawley plate, or aligners.
- Wait for device removal with a Quad Helix or expander before starting rehabilitation.
- With a Hawley plate or aligners, rehabilitation can begin as soon as the arch size is adequate.
